powerless
what would you do if you were powerless? that was the situation i found myself in when on my day off, i had no power between 9am - 5pm due to some maintenance required on the line.
i realised today how many of my hobbies and interests require electricity.
- listening to my records ❌
- playing video games on switch 2 or steam ❌
- watching my one episode a day of fear the walking dead ❌
i could have gone to the cinema but there wasn’t a film i hadn’t seen for me during the day.
turns out the one hobby i had left was offline, and that was reading. it made me wonder how many people use technology and power in their spare time and what they would consider doing if the power went out.
i ended up meeting up with my friends and going for a coffee, and had the biggest cinnamon bun i’d ever seen 🤤
the power is back on, and everything is back to normal. but i’m glad to see paper books are still the most reliable form of entertainment!
